Market · 230/400 V, 50 Hz
Mains supply in the United Kingdom is 230/400 V at 50 Hz. In Great Britain the Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations 2002 fix the declared low-voltage supply at 230 V between phase and neutral, allowed to vary by 10% above or 6% below, at 50 Hz within 1%. The supplier declares the number of phases of each supply, using information from the distribution network operator.
Household sockets are Type G to BS 1363, the standard for 13 amp fused plugs and sockets. At 230 V, 13 A is about 3 kW, less than the 3–3.6 kW a large air-cooled miner draws around the clock, so a miner should never run from an ordinary plug. Bitmain's S21 XP, for example, draws 3,645 W at 220–277 V and lists a 20 A single-phase input current. It needs its own dedicated circuit, for example with a 32 A IEC 60309 industrial socket, and a 230 V phase-to-neutral circuit is within its input range. Hydro-cooled models such as the S21 XP Hyd need a 380–415 V three-phase supply, which a 400 V three-phase connection provides.
Confirm the supply's phases and capacity with the network operator, and have a qualified electrician design the circuit.
| Supply | Connection | Listed miners that accept it |
|---|---|---|
| 230 V | Phase to neutral; declared voltage in Great Britain, +10% / −6% | 53 of 93 |
| 400 V three-phase | Line to line | 40 of 93 |
Counted from the input-voltage range stated for each miner, for the 93 listed miners with a stated range. Nominal supply values; actual site voltage varies. Have a qualified electrician confirm your supply, breakers and cabling.
The Met Office describes the UK's weather as highly variable: the country lies in the mid-latitude westerly wind belt on the edge of the Atlantic, close to continental Europe, and places in the east and south tend to be drier, warmer and sunnier than those further west and north.
Bitmain rates the air-cooled S21 XP for intake air from −20 °C to 45 °C and for 10–90% relative humidity, non-condensing. In a damp maritime climate the design work is about moisture: keep rain out of the intake, avoid condensation on cold hardware, and in winter recirculate a share of warm exhaust air so the intake stays inside the published range.
Lowest J/TH among listed models whose published input range includes a standard British supply voltage.

In the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance's Digital Mining Industry Report (April 2025), a survey of 49 mining firms with data as of 30 June 2024, the United Kingdom accounted for 0.24% of reported mining activity, weighted by power consumption; some respondents were also headquartered in the UK. The survey covered about 48% of network hashrate, and its authors caution that a respondent base centred on the United States affects country estimates. Cambridge's earlier Bitcoin Mining Map, built from mining-pool data, was last updated in January 2022.
HMRC's Cryptoassets Manual (section CRYPTO40200; manual last updated 28 November 2025) sets out how mining is taxed. Whether mining is a trade depends on the facts, including the degree of activity, organisation, risk and commerciality. HMRC's examples: mining with a home computer's spare capacity would not normally be a trade, while buying a bank of dedicated computers to mine with the expectation of a net gain after equipment and electricity costs would probably be trading. If it is not a trade, the sterling value of mined cryptoassets at the time of receipt is generally taxable as miscellaneous income, less appropriate expenses. Coins that are kept may be subject to Capital Gains Tax, or Corporation Tax on chargeable gains, when later disposed of.

Orders are handled the same way for every destination and scale with quantity:
Where a product shows "Availability on request" or "Available", stock is not held in a warehouse; lead time is confirmed on your quotation.
Standard shipping to United Kingdom is free on every order. If you need it faster, choose express shipping at checkout and we quote it before payment is requested.
Goods brought into the UK must be declared to HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC), which collects import VAT and any customs duty. Import VAT is normally charged at the same rate as on a UK sale; the standard rate is 20%. VAT-registered businesses can account for import VAT on their VAT return through postponed VAT accounting.
Importing into England, Wales or Scotland requires an EORI number starting with GB; moving goods into Northern Ireland may need one starting with XI. The commodity code on the import declaration sets the rate of duty and whether an import licence is needed, and duty can be lower under a trade agreement with the country of origin, so duty depends on classification and origin. Mains-voltage equipment falls under the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016, whose government guidance sets out obligations for importers as well as manufacturers and distributors.
Beyond a few machines, the miners are one line of the bill of materials. Transformers, switchgear, PDUs, racking, cooling and containers are specified around the miner model and the site's supply voltage, and can be quoted as one procurement scope.
