How the rankings are made
- What is ranked: Bitcoin (SHA-256) miners published on this site with a stated hashrate and power, that can still be ordered or sourced. Discontinued and sold-out models are left out.
- One row per model: where a model is listed in several hashrate versions, each table shows the version that scores best on that table's criterion.
- Figures: hashrate, power and price as each listing states them. J/TH is the stated efficiency, or power divided by hashrate where none is stated (marked “derived”). Price per TH/s is the listing's own price divided by its hashrate; a “From” price belongs to another version and is not used.
- Not ranked: noise, input voltage, firmware, warranty, lead time and real-world performance after installation. Check each on the product page, and ask for the details of a model before planning a site around it.
- No earnings are promised. What a miner earns depends on the network, the bitcoin price and your power price, all of which change; the electricity cost and break-even table shows each model at seven power prices.
The tables update as listings and prices change.
