Bitcoin Miners for Paraguay

ASIC miners for Paraguay's hydro-powered mining sector, on 220/380 V 50 Hz supply, from single containers to multi-megawatt sites.

Voltage and electrical supply in Paraguay

Paraguay's nominal low-voltage supply is 220/380 V at 50 Hz. Air-cooled miners with a 200–240 V or 220–277 V input connect line-to-neutral at 220 V, and hydro-cooled models specified for 380–415 V three-phase connect at 380 V. Both values sit at the lower edge of those input ranges, so check voltage drop on long cable runs: a supply that sags below a miner's minimum input voltage causes shutdowns.

Paraguay's grid power is generated almost entirely by hydroelectric plants, which is the basis of the country's mining industry. Mining sites contract power from the national utility at medium or high voltage and step down on site.

Cooling for Paraguay climate

Paraguay has a hot, humid subtropical climate. High summer temperatures reduce the margin air-cooled miners have against their maximum intake temperature, and humidity limits how much evaporative cooling can help. Air-cooled sites need generous airflow and strict hot-aisle separation; hydro-cooled and immersion systems are increasingly used for new capacity because they are less sensitive to ambient conditions.

Bitcoin mining in Paraguay

Cambridge's April 2025 Digital Mining Industry Report, a survey of 49 mining firms weighted by power use, put Paraguay at 3.4% of reported mining activity as of 30 June 2024, the largest share in South America, and noted that its grid is heavily decarbonised thanks to renewable energy. Cambridge cautions that its country percentages need careful interpretation.

Large sites contract hydropower. In July 2023 Bitfarms announced power purchase agreements for up to 150 MW of hydropower, including up to 100 MW at Yguazú near the Itaipu dam. Ownership has since changed: HIVE Digital agreed to buy the Yguazú site in January 2025, and in January 2026 Bitfarms announced the sale of its Paso Pe site as it left Latin America.

Rules for mining in Paraguay

In 2022 Paraguay's legislature considered, and failed to pass, a law regulating crypto and mining. The bill passed the Senate in July 2022; among other things it would have capped how much ANDE, the national grid operator, could raise miners' tariffs, at 15%. President Mario Abdo Benítez vetoed it in August 2022, and in December 2022 it fell short of the votes it needed in the Chamber of Deputies. In August 2022 ANDE had asked the government to raise the electricity tariff for miners by as much as 60% over the industrial rate, and press coverage at the time said there would be no cap on the industry's electricity tariffs.

How purchasing works

Orders are handled the same way for every destination and scale with quantity:

  • 1–4 units: online checkout on products that show a price and a confirmed availability status.
  • 5–19 units: checkout or a volume quote.
  • 20 units and above: a wholesale quotation covering unit price, batch, freight and delivery terms.
  • 100 units and above, or a full site: handled by mining sales as a procurement project.

Where a product shows "Availability on request" or "Available", stock is not held in a warehouse; lead time is confirmed on your quotation.

Shipping to Paraguay

Importing into Paraguay

Customs in Paraguay is administered by the Dirección Nacional de Ingresos Tributarios (DNIT), created by Law 7143/2023, which also collects domestic taxes; its customs directorate is the Gerencia General de Aduanas.

Value added tax (IVA), administered by DNIT, applies to imports of goods as well as to domestic sales. Law 6380/2019 sets a 5 percent rate for a short list of goods, such as basic foods, some farm products and medicines, and 10 percent for all other cases.

DNIT publishes classification opinions under the MERCOSUR Common Nomenclature. In opinion D.T.A.O. No. 45/24 of 27 June 2024 it classified a Bitmain Antminer S9 Bitcoin miner under 8543.70.99, and in D.V. No. 50/23 of 18 August 2023 it classified an Antspace HK3 mining container, built to house and liquid-cool miners, as a prefabricated building under 9406.90.20. Other models can be classified differently, and duty depends on classification and origin.

Infrastructure for larger deployments

Beyond a few machines, the miners are one line of the bill of materials. Transformers, switchgear, PDUs, racking, cooling and containers are specified around the miner model and the site's supply voltage, and can be quoted as one procurement scope.
