Bitcoin Miners for Poland

Polish grid rules set the nominal low-voltage network at 230/400 V and hold frequency at 50 Hz ± 1% for 99.5% of each week. Sockets are Type C and E. Type E sockets take the hybrid CEE 7/7 plug, which is rated 16 A: at 230 V that is at most 3.68 kW, too little margin for a 3–3.6 kW miner running around the clock. Bitmain's S21 XP, for example, draws 3,645 W and lists a 20 A single-phase input current, so a miner needs its own dedicated circuit, for example with a 32 A IEC 60309 industrial socket.

Energa-Operator, one of the distribution system operators, gives 12.5 kW on a three-phase installation as the standard connection power for a single-family house, against about 5 kW on a single-phase meter for a flat with a gas cooker and district hot water. A three-phase house connection suits both air-cooled miners, spread across the phases at 230 V, and hydro-cooled models such as the S21 XP Hyd, which need 380–415 V three-phase. Confirm connection power with the distribution operator and the installation with a qualified electrician.

Poland's weather is transitional and variable, shaped by colliding maritime, Arctic and subtropical air masses. Polar air dominates for much of the year and brings considerable precipitation, cloud and fog. Mean annual temperatures run from about 6 °C in the north-east to 10 °C in the south-west, and when moderating influences are lacking winter temperatures in mountain valleys can drop to −20 °C.

For air cooling, winter is the season to design for. −20 °C is the lowest operating temperature Bitmain lists for the S21 XP, so sites in the coldest areas should recirculate a share of exhaust air to temper the intake, and keep snow and fog-borne moisture out of the airflow to stay within the 10–90% non-condensing humidity range.

Poland does not appear in the Cambridge Digital Mining Industry Report (April 2025), whose survey of 49 mining firms, with data as of 30 June 2024, recorded mining activity in 23 countries. The survey covered about 48% of network hashrate, and its authors note that a respondent base centred on the United States may under-represent activity elsewhere. Cambridge's earlier Bitcoin Mining Map, built from mining-pool data, was last updated in January 2022.

Customs and tax in Poland are run by the National Revenue Administration (Krajowa Administracja Skarbowa, KAS). The basic VAT rate is 23%. On imports the importer calculates and shows the VAT in the customs declaration, and the tax base is the customs value plus the duty due. A VAT-registered business can deduct the import VAT as input tax in the VAT return for the period in which the tax obligation arose, but not before the period in which it received the customs document.

A business needs an EORI number, obtained through the e-Klient service, to file customs declarations. Under the EU's common customs rules the country of origin determines the duty payable, so duty depends on classification and origin. Electrical equipment rated between 50 and 1,000 V AC falls under the EU Low Voltage Directive.

Beyond a few machines, the miners are one line of the bill of materials. Transformers, switchgear, PDUs, racking, cooling and containers are specified around the miner model and the site's supply voltage, and can be quoted as one procurement scope.
