France's supply is 230/400 V at 50 Hz. Sockets are types C and E. The type E socket is rated 16 A and the flat type C Europlug only 2.5 A. A large air-cooled miner drawing 3–3.6 kW at 230 V takes roughly 13–16 A continuously, close to the full rating of a type E socket, so it needs a dedicated circuit, preferably with an IEC 60309 industrial connector (blue for 200–250 V; 16 A and 32 A are common ratings).
In France the subscribed power (puissance souscrite), in kVA, limits what a site can draw at once. Enedis, the operator that carries out meter power changes, gives the equivalents for a single-phase meter as 3 kVA = 15 A, 6 kVA = 30 A, 9 kVA = 45 A and 12 kVA = 60 A, and advises adding up the power of every appliance that may run at the same time. A single 3.3 kW miner alone exceeds a 3 kVA subscription. Changes are requested through the electricity supplier, which contacts Enedis.
Air-cooled miners with a 200–240 V input run phase to neutral; hydro-cooled miners specified for 380–415 V three-phase need a three-phase 400 V connection. Confirm with the supplier, Enedis and a qualified electrician.
| Supply | Connection | Listed miners that accept it |

| 400 V three-phase | Line to line; matches miners specified for 380–415 V three-phase input. | 40 of 93 |

Météo-France describes mainland France as temperate, shaped by mid-latitude position and prevailing Atlantic winds, with regional types: oceanic on the Brittany and lower Normandy coasts, altered oceanic in the Paris Basin, semi-continental in the north-east, mountain climates where temperature falls quickly with altitude, and Mediterranean, with hot summers, in Corsica and the south-east.
Air cooling works for most of the year in the north and west. The design limit is summer heat: in the heatwave of 17 to 30 June 2026 Météo-France recorded 42.7 °C at Cognac and 42.5 °C at Bordeaux, and Strasbourg passed 40 °C for the first time (40.4 °C). Sites, particularly in the south and south-west, should plan for such peaks with derating, evaporative assistance, hydro cooling or immersion. Mountain sites face the opposite problem of cold intake air.

France does not appear as a mining location in the most recent survey evidence. The Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance (CCAF) Digital Mining Industry Report of April 2025, based on survey data as of 30 June 2024 from firms representing about 48% of network hashrate, did not list France among the countries where respondents were headquartered or the 23 countries where they reported mining operations. It found European activity concentrated in the Nordic countries, led by Norway, while cautioning that its sample may overstate activity in some regions, such as the United States.
The EU Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (EU) 2023/1114 of 31 May 2023 sets requirements for offering and trading crypto-assets and for crypto-asset service providers; its recital 93 states that the transfer service it regulates should not include the miners that confirm transactions.
In France the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) authorises crypto-asset service providers. According to the AMF, the MiCA provisions on service providers apply from 30 December 2024, and providers that can show they served clients under the applicable national law before that date may continue for a maximum of 18 months, until 1 July 2026, or until they are granted or refused MiCA authorisation. MiCA also requires issuers and service providers to identify and disclose principal adverse climate and environmental impacts of the consensus mechanisms used to validate transactions.

Customs clearance is the responsibility of the Directorate-General for Customs and Indirect Taxes (DGDDI, douane.gouv.fr). The standard VAT rate, which also applies to imports, is 20 percent. Since 1 January 2022, self-assessment of import VAT has been compulsory and automatic for businesses with a French intra-EU VAT number: the VAT is declared on the VAT return instead of the customs declaration, and its management and collection moved from customs to the tax authority (DGFiP).
Companies established in France that carry out customs operations must register for an EORI number, free of charge, through the SOPRANO service on douane.gouv.fr. Private individuals with no customs-related activity do not need one.
The EU customs tariff is common to all member states, but the duty rate depends on the tariff classification of the goods and their origin.
Beyond a few machines, the miners are one line of the bill of materials. Transformers, switchgear, PDUs, racking, cooling and containers are specified around the miner model and the site's supply voltage, and can be quoted as one procurement scope.
