Bitcoin Miners for the Philippines

What a buyer in the Philippines should check before importing an ASIC miner: the 230 V, 60 Hz supply and socket ratings, cooling in heat, humidity and typhoon season, and Bureau of Customs accreditation and VAT.

Voltage and electrical supply in Philippines

The Philippine supply is 230/400 V at 60 Hz: 230 V between a line and neutral, 400 V between lines on a three-phase connection. Check on each product page that the miner's power supply accepts 60 Hz input.

Sockets take Type A, B and C plugs. Many buildings have dual sockets for Types A and C, often B as well, and NEMA 6-15 outlets are used for air conditioners. Types A and B are American designs rated 15 A at 125 V, so at 230 V they are outside their voltage rating, and the Type C Europlug is rated only 2.5 A. A large air-cooled miner drawing 3–3.6 kW takes roughly 13–16 A at 230 V, continuously, close to or above a 15 A rating. Give each machine its own circuit sized for continuous load, with an industrial socket or a hard-wired connection.

Air-cooled miners with a 200–240 V input run at 230 V; hydro-cooled models specified for 380–415 V three-phase need a 400 V three-phase supply. Confirm the service voltage, phase and capacity with your distribution utility and have a licensed electrician do the installation.

Cooling for the Philippine climate

PAGASA, the national weather service, describes the climate as tropical and maritime, with relatively high temperature, high humidity and abundant rainfall. The mean annual temperature is 26.6 °C (excluding Baguio), from a January mean of 25.5 °C to a May mean of 28.3 °C. Monthly mean relative humidity runs from 71% in March to 85% in September, and March to May is when heat and humidity peak together.

Air-cooled miners face warm, humid intake air all year, with no cold season. The rainy season runs from June to November, and typhoons bring much of the rain. Most typhoons track northwest, so Mindanao is spared direct hits from the majority of them. Sites need storm-proof intakes, protection against condensation and corrosion, and airflow sized for March to May. Where humid intake air is a concern, hydro or immersion cooling is worth considering.

How purchasing works

Orders are handled the same way for every destination and scale with quantity:

  • 1–4 units: online checkout on products that show a price and a confirmed availability status.
  • 5–19 units: checkout or a volume quote.
  • 20 units and above: a wholesale quotation covering unit price, batch, freight and delivery terms.
  • 100 units and above, or a full site: handled by mining sales as a procurement project.

Where a product shows "Availability on request" or "Available", stock is not held in a warehouse; lead time is confirmed on your quotation.

Shipping to Philippines

Standard shipping to Philippines is free on every order. If you need it faster, choose express shipping at checkout and we quote it before payment is requested.

Importing into Philippines

Imports are cleared by the Bureau of Customs (BOC). Persons and entities intending to import must first obtain accreditation through the BOC's Accounts Management Office. BOC also directs importers to the Philippine National Trade Repository to check whether goods are freely importable or regulated, meaning they need clearances or licences before import.

VAT is an internal revenue tax under the National Internal Revenue Code, assessed by BOC at clearance. On imported goods it is 12% under Section 107 of the Code, as amended by the TRAIN law (Republic Act 10963). It is charged on the value BOC uses for tariff and customs duties, plus those duties, excise taxes and other charges, and the importer pays it before the goods leave customs custody. Duty depends on the tariff classification and origin of the goods.

Infrastructure for larger deployments

Beyond a few machines, the miners are one line of the bill of materials. Transformers, switchgear, PDUs, racking, cooling and containers are specified around the miner model and the site's supply voltage, and can be quoted as one procurement scope.
