Market · 230/400 V, 50 Hz
Malaysia's low-voltage supply is 230/400 V at 50 Hz. The Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga) adopted these IEC 60038 values from 1 January 2008, replacing 240/415 V, with a tolerance of +10% and −6%.
Most sockets are Type G (MS 589), rated 13 A; Type M is used mainly for air conditioners. A 3–3.6 kW air-cooled miner draws roughly 13–16 A at 230 V, continuously, which is at or above a 13 A plug's rating. Each machine needs its own circuit with an industrial socket or a hard-wired connection.
In Peninsular Malaysia, TNB's supply handbook limits single-phase 230 V supply to 12 kVA of maximum demand. Above that a non-domestic customer gets three-phase 400 V up to 100 kVA, subject to a TNB capability study; larger loads need a feeder pillar or a new substation, and from 1,000 kVA supply is at 11 kV or higher. Air-cooled 200–240 V miners run line-to-neutral; hydro-cooled 380–415 V models connect to the 400 V three-phase supply. In Sabah and Sarawak, check the local utility's rules. Confirm the supply with the utility and use a licensed electrician.
| Supply | Connection | Listed miners that accept it |
|---|---|---|
| 230 V | Line to neutral; TNB supplies up to 12 kVA maximum demand at 230 V single-phase | 53 of 93 |
| 400 V three-phase | Line to line; required above 12 kVA | 40 of 93 |
Counted from the input-voltage range stated for each miner, for the 93 listed miners with a stated range. Nominal supply values; actual site voltage varies. Have a qualified electrician confirm your supply, breakers and cabling.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department describes the climate as uniform temperature, high humidity and copious rainfall, with generally light winds. Annual temperature variation is under 2 °C in most places, so there is no cool season to give air-cooled miners relief, but no cold-weather minimum to design for either.
Humidity is the main design issue. The department reports average daily maximum relative humidity above 94%, sometimes reaching 100%. Sites need to avoid condensation on cold surfaces, protect hashboards against corrosion and keep rain out of intakes, especially on coasts exposed to the northeast monsoon (the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia, western Sarawak and northeast Sabah). Where humid intake air is a concern, hydro or immersion cooling is worth considering.

Hashrate Index's Global Hashrate Heatmap update for Q4 2026, published on 5 October 2026, puts Malaysia at about 7 EH/s, under 1% of global hashrate, up 27% year on year.
Much of the mining that comes to light runs on stolen power. TNB told The Star in May 2025 that detected crypto-related electricity theft cases rose from 610 in 2018 to 2,397 in 2024. TNB is rolling out smart meters to detect theft and has built a database of owners and tenants of premises suspected of electricity theft for mining. For a legal operation, a metered supply agreed with the utility is the starting point.
In November 2025 the energy ministry told Parliament that 13,827 premises had been found using electricity illegally to mine bitcoin between 2020 and August 2025. The deputy energy minister said a multi-agency committee would examine whether a specific policy for, or a ban on, Bitcoin activities is needed, along with changes to the Electricity Supply Act 1990 (Act 447). Its recommendations go to the Cabinet. At the time there were no specific laws governing cryptocurrency mining; fraudulent use of electricity is an offence under section 37(3) of Act 447.
In July 2026 the deputy home minister told Parliament that 75,578 mining machines had been seized in 3,049 raids between 2022 and May 2026. He said mining becomes illegal when it relies on unauthorised electricity connections, meter tampering or disrupting the power supply.

Orders are handled the same way for every destination and scale with quantity:
Where a product shows "Availability on request" or "Available", stock is not held in a warehouse; lead time is confirmed on your quotation.
Standard shipping to Malaysia is free on every order. If you need it faster, choose express shipping at checkout and we quote it before payment is requested.
Imports are cleared by the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (Jabatan Kastam Diraja Malaysia), which also administers sales tax. Malaysian sales tax is a single-stage tax charged on taxable goods made in Malaysia and on taxable goods imported into Malaysia.
The rate is 5%, 10% or a specific rate. Goods listed in the Sales Tax (Rate of Sales Tax) Order 2025 carry 5% or a specific rate, exempt goods are listed in a separate exemption order, and goods in neither order are taxed at 10%. Imported goods are taxed at the rate in force when customs releases them.
The department's Technical Services Division in each state confirms tariff codes. Import duty depends on the machine's tariff classification and origin.
Beyond a few machines, the miners are one line of the bill of materials. Transformers, switchgear, PDUs, racking, cooling and containers are specified around the miner model and the site's supply voltage, and can be quoted as one procurement scope.
