Bitcoin Miners for Mexico

Choosing and importing Bitcoin mining hardware for Mexico: which miners suit the 127/220 V and 120/240 V, 60 Hz supply, what the climate means for cooling, and how imports are cleared and taxed.

Voltage and electrical supply in Mexico

Mexico's grid runs at 60 Hz, and two low-voltage systems are in use: 127/220 V three-phase and 120/240 V split-phase. Sockets follow NMX-J-163-ANCE and take Type A and B plugs, rated at most 15 A at 125 V. That rules out ordinary sockets twice over: a large air-cooled miner draws 3–3.6 kW, and its 200–240 V or 220–277 V power supply will not run on 127 V at all.

Air-cooled miners need a dedicated circuit fed between two lines: 220 V across two phases of a 127/220 V service, or 240 V across both legs of a 120/240 V service, ending in a connector rated for the current (about 12.5–16.5 A per machine at 220–240 V). Hydro-cooled miners specified for 380–415 V three-phase do not match a 220 V line-to-line supply; they need a different service voltage or a transformer, so compare each model's input range with what the site actually receives before ordering.

Confirm the supply at the site with the utility, and have a licensed electrician design the circuits and protection.

Cooling for the Mexican climate

Mexico lies between latitudes 14° and 32° north. In the national adaptation of the Köppen classification it has warm (A), dry (B) and temperate (C) climates, with a cold high-mountain climate only on the highest peaks.

In the dry climates, daytime temperatures can pass 40 °C while nights can fall below 0 °C. Daytime intake air can then exceed the maximum intake temperature on a miner's product page, and winter nights can drop under its minimum operating temperature, so sites need shaded, cooled intake air, filtration where the air is dusty, and some exhaust recirculation for cold nights. The warm climates of the Gulf and Pacific coastal plains average 22–26 °C with 1,000–4,000 mm of rain a year, which adds humidity and condensation to the design problems; hydro cooling with dry coolers keeps the electronics out of moist air. Temperate areas, with mean annual temperatures of 12–18 °C, are the easiest for air cooling.

How purchasing works

Orders are handled the same way for every destination and scale with quantity:

  • 1–4 units: online checkout on products that show a price and a confirmed availability status.
  • 5–19 units: checkout or a volume quote.
  • 20 units and above: a wholesale quotation covering unit price, batch, freight and delivery terms.
  • 100 units and above, or a full site: handled by mining sales as a procurement project.

Where a product shows "Availability on request" or "Available", stock is not held in a warehouse; lead time is confirmed on your quotation.

Shipping to Mexico

Standard shipping to Mexico is free on every order. If you need it faster, choose express shipping at checkout and we quote it before payment is requested.

Importing into Mexico

Imports are cleared by the Agencia Nacional de Aduanas de México (ANAM). Under the Customs Law, importers must be registered in the Padrón de Importadores kept by the Tax Administration Service (SAT), and in the sector-specific register where the goods require it.

Value added tax (IVA) applies to imports at the general rate of 16% under the federal VAT law, and is paid together with the general import tax when the goods are cleared. Import duty itself depends on the tariff classification and the origin of the goods, so settle both before shipping.

The Customs Law counts Mexican technical standards (normas oficiales mexicanas, NOMs) among the non-tariff rules that must be met on import; ask the customs agent handling the entry whether a NOM applies to the specific model.

Infrastructure for larger deployments

Beyond a few machines, the miners are one line of the bill of materials. Transformers, switchgear, PDUs, racking, cooling and containers are specified around the miner model and the site's supply voltage, and can be quoted as one procurement scope.
