Miner comparison
Antminer S23 vs Antminer S21 XP
Both are air-cooled Bitmain Antminer models for SHA-256 (Bitcoin) mining, built in the same 450 × 219 × 293 mm housing, on the same single-phase 220–277 V AC supply drawing up to 20 A, and both rated at 76 dBA. The difference is efficiency. Bitmain rates the S23 at 305 TH/s on 3,355 W (11 J/TH) and the S21 XP at 270 TH/s on 3,645 W (13.5 J/TH), both at 25 °C inlet air. The S23 gives about 13% more hashrate on about 8% less power, so each terahash takes about 19% less electricity. The S23 is the heavier unit, at 20.6 kg net against 18.7 kg, and both are specified for -20 to 45 °C operation. The table below and the calculator work out what these figures mean with current network data.

Green marks the better value in a row (higher hashrate; lower power, J/TH, noise, weight, price and electricity cost). Specifications are as recorded for each product; “—” means the value is not stated. Economics are estimates at network conditions of 2026-10-28, $0.06/kWh, 2% pool fee and 100% uptime, and are not a forecast of earnings.
