Miner comparison

Antminer S21 XP vs Antminer S21+

The Antminer S21 XP is rated at 270 TH/s, 25% more than the Antminer S21+ at 216 TH/s. The Antminer S21 XP is the more efficient at 13.5 J/TH against 16.5 J/TH, so it uses 18% less electricity per terahash.

Both are air-cooled Bitmain Antminer S21 models for SHA-256 (Bitcoin) mining, in the same 450 × 219 × 293 mm housing, on the same single-phase 220–277 V AC supply drawing up to 20 A, and both rated at 76 dBA. The difference is efficiency. Bitmain rates the S21 XP at 270 TH/s on 3,645 W (13.5 J/TH) and the S21+ at 216 TH/s on 3,564 W (16.5 J/TH), both at 25 °C inlet air. The XP gives 25% more hashrate for about 2% more power, so each terahash takes about 18% less electricity. The S21+ is the heavier of the two, at 21.5 kg net against 18.7 kg. Both are specified for -20 to 45 °C operation at up to 2,000 m altitude. The table below and the calculator work out what these figures mean with current network data.

Green marks the better value in a row (higher hashrate; lower power, J/TH, noise, weight, price and electricity cost). Specifications are as recorded for each product; “—” means the value is not stated. Economics are estimates at network conditions of 2026-10-28, $0.06/kWh, 2% pool fee and 100% uptime, and are not a forecast of earnings.
