Miner comparison

Antminer S23 vs WhatsMiner M70S 248T

The Antminer S23 is rated at 305 TH/s, 23% more than the WhatsMiner M70S 248T at 248 TH/s. The Antminer S23 is the more efficient at 11 J/TH against 13.5 J/TH, so it uses 19% less electricity per terahash. Input voltage differs: 220–277 V for the Antminer S23 and 220–240 V for the WhatsMiner M70S 248T.

Both are air-cooled Bitcoin miners drawing almost the same power. Bitmain rates the Antminer S23 at 305 TH/s on 3,355 W (11 J/TH) and MicroBT lists the WhatsMiner M70S at 248 TH/s on 3,348 W (13.5 J/TH), both efficiency ratings at 25 °C. For 7 W more, the S23 gives about 23% more hashrate, so each terahash takes about 19% less electricity. The S23 accepts 220–277 V AC at up to 20 A; the M70S power supply is specified for 220–240 V AC. The M70S is the smaller unit, 430 × 155 × 226 mm against 450 × 219 × 293 mm. Operating ranges differ: -20 to 45 °C for the S23, -5 to 35 °C for the M70S. Bitmain rates the S23 at 76 dBA; MicroBT publishes no noise figure. MicroBT's datasheet gives the M70S as a range, 226–258 TH/s and 3,140–3,500 W. The table below and the calculator work out what these figures mean with current network data.
