What the generation covers

MicroBT's own shop files the M30S+ and M30S++ under its "M30 Series" filter and lists both as air-cooled. It rates the M30S+ at 100 TH/s and 34 J/TH, and the M30S++ at 102 or 104 TH/s and 31 J/TH. The models listed here therefore span 100 to 104 TH/s and 31 to 34 J/TH.

How the versions differ

The M30S++ is the more efficient of the two. At launch MicroBT gave it up to 112 TH/s at 31 J/T, against 100 TH/s at 34 J/T for the M30S+, so each terahash on the M30S++ takes about 9% less energy. MicroBT described the line-up as expanding "the M30S series to three products with 3X J/T".

Announcement

MicroBT launched the M30S in December 2019 and presented the M30S+ and M30S++ at its online M30 launch event, scheduled for 16 April 2020 (US Eastern time) and dated 17 April in Beijing time. When it released the M50 series in April 2022, MicroBT said the M50 would replace the M30 series.
