Canaan's November 2024 upgrade lists four models: the A15Pro at no less than 215 TH/s and 16.8 J/TH, the A15XP at 200–212 TH/s and 17.8 J/TH, the A15 at 188–203 TH/s and 18.8 J/TH, and the A15SE at 170–185 TH/s and 19.9 J/TH. Later releases give the air-cooled A15XP 207 TH/s and the A15Pro an average of 221 TH/s at about 16.6 J/TH. The immersion-cooled A1566I delivers 249 to 267 TH/s without overclocking. The hydro-cooled A1566HA has a designed hash rate of 480 TH/s, and Canaan names 460T and 488T versions.
Of those four models, the A15Pro has the lowest J/TH; against the A15SE's 19.9 J/TH it uses about 16% less energy per terahash. Canaan describes the series as coming in both air-cooled and liquid-cooled versions.
Canaan debuted the A1566 at Bitcoin Asia in Hong Kong on 9 May 2024, rated at 185 TH/s and 3,420 W (18.5 J/TH) on a 200–300 V supply, and upgraded the series to four models on 7 November 2024.
Models in one generation share a chip platform but differ in cooling type, hashrate and efficiency. Start with the cooling type your site supports, then compare efficiency and power draw between the versions listed above. Use the compare checkboxes to put two to four models side by side.
